I am pleased to announce that I have secured the rights to sell Pinnacle Holistic Dog and Cat Food at my ecommerce store. Dr. Fox has been asking me to get them for some time with their all-natural wholesome foods. Pinnacle is rich in everything a dog and cat need and they are free of those things that may cause harm to us.

Dr. Fox has tried hard to dispel the lies that there is a difference between dog food and people food. Pinnacle has flavors that sounds like an entrée at a fine restaurant. I will be ordering myself the fresh trout and delicious sweet potatoes. But there is also the duck and potato and the chicken and oatmeal. You can get a 12 can case now for $26.95.

Oooo, it's hard to type as I drool on the keyboard. It is hard to type anyhow because my paws have a hard time hitting the correct keys.

Be sure you check out the selection of Pinnacle Holistic Pet Food. I also have 8 other new pet food brands on my Pet Food page.

Cat daydreaming fishing

Last week I explored what cats are saying, now I have found what cats are dreaming. I may soon become an expert on cat psychology. These images are from photographer, Theresa Knudson. She took pictures of her cat stretched out on the carpet and added paper cutout representations on what her cat was dreaming about. The closeness between cat and owner to know exactly what the other is dreaming about is fascinating. It is also amazing how long that cat had to stay in one position while Theresa made the dream representation. They are fascinating pictures and help me in my study of cats.

Pet o Matic

This is a bit old, but it is fun idea: what is the right pet for you. The Washington Post put this together several years ago (which you can kind of tell), but it goes through some simple helps to know what kind of pet is right for you. Have fun. It also ends with information on how to take care of the pet chosen.

Scottish terrier painting

I was followed by wagwoof, who is a lovely painter. She trained in Graphic design and Fine art and loves painting pets in a contemporary graphic illustrative style. She works closely with clients to produce the pets' personalities.

Wiener Dog Painting

You may remember I have an affinity to wiener dogs from my first post as I described me.

calico cat

Yes, she also does cat paintings. Wagwoof is based in Toronto, but she ships worldwide.

I've been getting complaints that I write to much about dogs. Well, I am a dog. If you are a cat and you want to help me with this blog, just let me know.

Well in effort to make amends before the end of the year, here is something that found very interesting. This comes from The Oatmeal website, which has more clever posters like How to Pet a Kitty. I hope you enjoy and have a happy New Year.

Rin Tin Tin image for the Red Cross

My pal, Dr. Michael Fox, had written an article on how to help soldiers coming back from duty in adopting a pet they befriended overseas. I thought this would be a great resource to bring back up for Veteran's Day.

Many dogs have served our soldiers overseas as a support in their work and as companions during emotionally trying times. The image above shows Rin Tin Tin, a star in silent movies bringing up the need for dogs to serve during World War I. He joined the Red Cross Dogs (PDF) and went overseas finding wounded soldiers and getting them help.

There are many other dogs that are adopted by soldiers in war zones that also become a source of emotional support for the soldiers. Many of these soldiers would like to adopt these pets upon returning back home. There are three organizations I know of that help with these adoptions. Please let me know if there are others.

  1. Best Friends Animal Society
  2. The Humane Society of the United States
  3. Operation Baghdad Pups (thanks to @iLoveDogsInc for this tip)

Get Adobe Flash player

If you haven't found this website yet, I encourage you to get some laughs from Draw the Dog. The drawings are by ex-Disney animator Jim George and is partnered by Bruce Kasanoff who collects the ideas. The ideas come from submissions they receive. If you have a funny dog story, send them their way, you might immortalize yourself or your pet with a personalized dog drawing... depending on which of you sends in the story.

Peter Guren's Desk

My Buddy Shagg E. Dawg of the Ask Shagg comic just created a new website for his roommate Peter Guren. It is a site dedicated to Cartoonists and give you a chance to see what happens on the others side of the cartoon strip.

The site is called The Cartoonist Studio, and so far has seven other cartoonists sign on: Tom Batiuk (Funky Winkerbean), Dave Coverly (Speed Bump), Greg Evans (Luanne), Jeff Keane (The Family Circus), Rick Kirkman (Baby Blues), Mike Luckovich (political cartoonist) and Jerry Scott (Baby Blues, Zits).

The site states that they will be opening up space for amatuer cartoonists to display their work. Very interested in seeing what is to come of it.

For those having pet questions, you can Ask Shagg for his comical response here. He has a free Shagg doll for any question used in his column.
